Explicitly
HIV Prevention starts with you
Senior Capstone Project | University of Oklahoma
Sex work is a multi-billion dollar industry. Many young workers do not have healthcare insurance or resources to access women’s health. One of the many healthcare disparities this demographic faces is HIV.
Explicitly informally presents information to help increase awareness surrounding HIV within the female sex work community. Simple photography and bold colors aims to target ages 18-25.
Poster Series
This series of vibrant print posters combines bold typography, eye-catching graphics, and impactful imagery to raise awareness about HIV prevention and health disparities within the female sex work community. Designed to engage diverse audiences, these materials emphasize the importance of individual responsibility in prevention efforts while delivering critical information in an accessible and visually compelling way.
Information Cards
This printed material, designed for clinics or nonprofit settings, helps patients seeking HIV prevention compare different drug options. The included chart highlights various HIV treatment methods for at-risk populations, allowing patients to easily decide which prevention option best suits their needs.
All HIV prevention methods are highly effective for individuals at risk, but they differ in dosing frequency. Injectable PrEP requires administration only once every two months, while the pill must be taken daily. Since these medications only work when taken consistently, Apretude, the injectable PrEP, offers a more convenient option for those with busy lifestyles.
Social Posts
Similar to the posters, these social posts engage the audience to promote HIV prevention among female sex workers.
Environmental
This vibrant mural, designed for a high-traffic urban space, extends the Explicitly branding with bold colors and dynamic graphics. Aimed at engaging passersby, the design raises awareness about HIV prevention and health disparities within the female sex work community. By bringing the message into public spaces, the mural shows and encourages meaningful conversations around critical health issues.
