Bienestar
UniverSity of Okla. College of Public Health
In collaboration with Jordan Lanoue and Kylie Parker
Bienestar is an Oklahoma City COVID-19 vaccine campaign promoting increased vaccination rates among Hispanic and Latino communities. Our research showed hesitancy towards the vaccine due to systematic healthcare trauma, citizenship status and absence of resources.
Logo Meaning
"Bienestar" translates to "Wellbeing" in Spanish. This campaign aims to engage the Latino and Hispanic communities in Oklahoma City through recreational, family-oriented and spiritual activities. Our research revealed that most Latino and Hispanic families in OKC are connected to a religious group. This connection is symbolized by the Sacred Heart icon, which traditionally represents friendship, love and truth.
Community Incentive Card
Since this campaign is community-centered, vaccination incentive cards were created to promote higher vaccination rates while supporting local Latino and Hispanic businesses. Participating restaurants and stores will accept these cards. Each patient receives $20 for every dose, totaling $40 after completing both vaccines.
Web Resources
Our online presence is just as crucial as our environmental and print marketing efforts. These digital resources provide community members with detailed information on vaccination sites and incentive card details. To enhance accessibility, the website includes a language switch in the menu, allowing users to toggle between English and Spanish.
